SHINY OBJECT SYNDROME

Imagine walking into your local grocery store shopping for some meal prep. You see an attractive man or woman and immediately go say "Hey, what’s for dinner tonight? They laugh and y’all connect, exchanging info and planning a tentative date. Boom. You're in the door.

Y’all hang out a few times and you start to like them. You see their value. One night they invite you to a comedy club with their friend. You agree to meet them there and upon walking in you are greeted by two beautiful white smiles. But the friend’s teeth are slight brighter and straighter.

They break the ice by complimenting you on your outfit, saying “Okaayyy we see you with the Balenciagas, are those the new track runners?” “Yup I just picked them up today actually“ you reply nonchalantly. You notice that the friend is dressed well too — you having a keen sense of fashion. She/he has a fire vibe and you start to think to yourself like “fuck, maybe I chose the wrong friend”

This is an example of shiny object syndrome. Small variables distracting you, causing you to lose sight of the bigger picture.

SOS Is defined as a continual state of distraction brought on by the belief that there is something new worth pursuing. I’ve dealt with this trait my entire life, so I decided to create a brand highlighting the lessons that I’ve learned and turn them into concepts.

From leaving my corporate job in 2019 to pursue a career barbering, to juggling 4 businesses (car rental company, skin care products, a clothing line, and barbering) and having to let go of two of them in order to keep the others afloat. I have opened new doors without closing others, believing it would bring me more satisfaction. But it's a never ending cycle, like a football player chasing a moving goal post.
